We realise this may come as a surprise and/or feel like very short notice… (sorry!) We really would have loved to have been able to tell you sooner but there have been some significant “challenges” which has made this beyond our control.

We can’t begin to tell you the huge relief it is to finally be able to tell you all.

We’ll miss the High Street.

We’ve been looking for somewhere extra special but have struggled to find anywhere which made our hearts sing. Until now.

Thank you for being part of our journey. As a Grade II Listed building, our dental transformation hasn’t been straight forward.

Moreover we’ve taken our time to ensure everything is fully considered – you know how we like to do that. Everything has been chosen with care, safety and comfort in mind.

Our new dental chairs are super comfy! Pressure mapped, supportive, cushioned. You can lie back and enjoy TV of your choice…(coming soon)!

We’re doing our best to keep the move as smooth and seamless a transition as possible. We realise it’s short notice, thank you for understanding.

We have invested absolutely everything into creating a perfect dental space – emotionally, physically, financially.

It will be 94% finished, but there are some jobs we simply cannot do right now (painting the outside of the building, re-doing the windows (conservation challenges) and some final decor delights

(posh seating and dreamy artwork).

We’ll get there, but perhaps in a year or few. Thank you for understanding.

You’re bound to have some questions:

Will prices be increasing?

It’s been quite the economic landscape of late and we have held our prices the same for the last 3 years. We’ve continued to do everything we can to absorb increasing costs from suppliers, labs , operational costs, training and compliance costs (a raise in National Insurance being a particular curveball).

Whilst we will continue to offer most of our routine dentistry at the same rate as present (Hygiene and Dental Health Checks), in the New Year there will be a small uplift in our more complex treatments, where materials, components or labwork are used to deliver your service inline with current market and economic trends.

We will continue to offer our Membership Plan, – a great way to spread the cost of your payments. As a Member of the Practice, you’ll pay less on many treatments. (Terms apply; just ask our team for more info.)

Is there parking?

There are often a number of spaces available on Carlton Crescent and Rockstone Place – all available up to 4 hours with PayByPhone – (it’s worthwhile downloading their app in advance). Rockstone Place is cheaper than Carlton Crescent (1 hour currently costs £1.23).

Southampton Street Car Park (SO15 2ET) is also just around the corner and can be used for up to 10 hours. Wilton Avenue is just around the corner (max 4 hours) Amoy Street Car Park (up to 10 hours). Bedford Place and Grovesnor Square are close too. Is it close to public transport?

Southampton Train Station is a 15 minute walk or a 5 min taxi away.

How many stairs are there?

Let’s just say the team are going to be very fit going up and down the stairs!

For patients, most treatment will be conducted on the first floor. We have one ground floor surgery. We’ll be hosting regular “downstairs clinics” for those who struggle with the stairs, just let us know.

Unfortunately, due to Heritage restrictions, there is no wheelchair access and no accessible toilet onsite.

If you require wheelchair access, please contact us before your appointment so we can help arrange care at a nearby accessible clinic. If this applies, we can transfer your records quickly, safely and at no cost.

Will you be offering any other services?

We already provide a comprehensive range of dental services which means the majority of treatments can be completed inhouse. We remain committed to offering clinicians who excel in their associated field, and with five surgeries operating five days a week, we hope you will be able to quickly see whom you need to see.

Will you offer facial aesthetics?

We already do. Rob does Botox & Lip fillers so discretely that you probably didn’t even know it was available upon request.

An important note about Accessibility

We want every patient to feel safe, comfortable and well supported during their visit.
Our practice is located in a Grade II listed building, which creates some unavoidable access limitations.

Entrance and Internal Access

There are three steps at the main entrance.

Most of our treatment rooms are on the first floor, accessed by a flight of stairs.

We do not have a lift or an accessible toilet due to the listed nature of the building.

If steps or stairs are difficult

We can make the following reasonable adjustments:

Side Entrance Access
If steps are difficult for you, we can arrange access through our ground-floor side entrance, which has only a single threshold.

Downstairs Clinic
If stairs to the first floor are difficult, we offer a monthly downstairs clinic in our ground-floor surgery.

Please let us know in advance if you would benefit from either option, so we can arrange this for you.

Wheelchair Access

Due to the structural restrictions of our Grade II listed building, we are not able to provide wheelchair access.

If you require wheelchair-accessible facilities — and we are not already aware, or if your needs have changed — please tell us.

We work closely with a fully accessible nearby practice, Clover Dental (North Baddesley), and we can transfer your records quickly, safely and free of charge.
