You’re in safe hands in our care. A warm wave of a welcome from the Hampshire Dentists team
Meet Dr Robin Hanna – Principal Dentist
I’m Robin, the Owner and Principal Dentist here. I grew up in Northern Ireland and completed my B.D.S. in Glasgow University in 2003. I have practised in Scotland, Reading and Hythe and I have loved being in Southampton City Centre since 2010.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of dentistry, I enjoy time with my wife, two children and other friends and family. I’m a keen long distance runner participating in various half and full marathons and enjoy snowboarding, golf, watersports and travelling when I get the opportunity.
What do I enjoy most about the job?
I love helping people, whether its relieving them of pain or discomfort, enabling them to eat and talk with ease, or having the confidence to smile again – especially for important life events such as weddings, graduations and big birthdays!
I enjoy the social element of meeting new people and I am always amazed at how far people are prepared to travel to see us!
Background and dental interest
My passion for clinical excellence and quality care together, with my commitment to staying at the forefront of dental treatments, education and technology, has inspired me to undertake numerous post graduate courses both in the UK and internationally.
These courses reflect the ever-evolving host of dental problems, requirements and cosmetic trends many of our patients come to us with, and range from cosmetic and restorative dentistry, implants, sinus lifts, and bone grafting to a wide range of fast orthodontic solutions including six month smiles, Fast Braces, Invisalign and Damon Braces.
Having this comprehensive, all-encompassing approach to dentistry enables me to treat the simplest of restorations to full mouth rehabilitations, with modern restorative materials including the use of crowns, bridges, and dental implants.
Comfort is key to me, and I’m probably best known for my ability to put even the most anxious of patients at ease by my gentle, caring approach and my ability to describe and undertake all procedures in a simple, but thorough and uncomplicated pain-free manner.

Jill Hanna
Background and dental interest
As the “wife of the boss”, my role in the practice is mainly consultative and supportive, drawing on my experience as a Marketing Manager with a well known blue chip brand, what seems a lifetime ago!
After a difficult start when we took over the practice in 2010, I was so amazed by how many people had been searching for where Rob had moved to and how fast word spread about his setting up on the High Street. We are privileged that so many of our patients have been coming to us since the very start. They have supported and encouraged us and in so many cases, been incredible ambassadors, championing Hampshire Dentists to their friends and family. Thank you to these Hampshire Dentists stars!
Living with Rob, I know what a perfectionist he is, meticulous with the very smallest and finest of details and whilst this may drive me to madness sometimes at home – who better could you trust than someone who takes such pride in everything he does? This ethos is embraced and carried by all the team members who work at the practice too. They are soft, gentle and helpful in every way and we continue to welcome team members who embrace this approach.
Outside of the practice, I am a Mum of two (soon to be three) little ones. They keep us on our toes and sometimes even at our wits end. Our eldest (son) would love to become a Dentist, he even managed to (safely) extract his little sisters very first tooth (with a little coaching from Daddy). He was a bit disappointed that he didn’t get a share of the tooth fairy profits though.
