“Changed my life…

I can enjoy my food without fear”

– Angela

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are proven to be the most successful way of replacing missing teeth. They are strong, realistic and permanent.

A dental implant is a tiny titanium post that is gently placed into your jaw. Over time the bone bonds with the titanium to provide a secure and durable base for a tooth replacement.

Custom made crowns and bridges are secured on top of the implant to look and feel like natural teeth.

Why are dental implants the best option to replace missing teeth?

Dental implants…
  • Last longer than the alternatives and usually do not require replacement overtime
  • Allow you to eat what you want
  • Let you feel, taste and enjoy food more fully – they don’t cover the roof your your mouth
  • Save and maintain bone levels after tooth loss and avoid premature ageing
  • Do not damage adjacent healthy teeth
  • Are easier to clean around than dental bridges
  • Match your teeth better than dentures, making them look more natural

Your implant questions answered

How long do dental implants last?

Implants have been reported to last over 40 years…. but inevitably it comes down to how well you maintain your oral hygiene. If you look after your teeth and keep up with your hygiene appointments at the practice, your implant will last you a very long time.

Am I suitable for implant treatment?

It’s now possible for almost all patients to have implant treatment, thanks to significant design and technological advances. Apart from some severe medical conditions the good news is we can help. You might benefit from dental implants if you are:

  • Scared about your loose or wobbly teeth
  • Worrying about what you can eat
  • Embarrassed by a gap when you smile
  • Uncomfortable with your rocking dentures
What is involved in implant treatment?

Your journey to dental implants begins with a thorough consultation where we get to know you on a personal level. We take the time to understand your needs and preferences, meticulously planning your treatment together. Once we’ve agreed on a plan, we painlessly insert the implant into your jawbone.

Afterwards, patience becomes essential during the 3 to 6 months required for proper healing and integration with the surrounding bone tissue. Diligent post-operative care is vital during this time to ensure the best possible outcome. Finally, you receive your permanent, custom-made final tooth, perfectly blending in with your natural smile. Rest assured, we’ll always be here to help, support and call upon, should you ever need us.

How long does implant treatment take?

Timings will depend on your individual circumstances. We can often place a functional and aesthetic temporary tooth onto your implant straight away however the entire process can take anywhere between 4-9 months, or longer, to achieve your final permanent tooth.

Timing typically depends on the type and quantity of implants you need, along with the quality of bone in which the implants are placed. We can assess your situation at any time and provide you with an accurate estimate of timescales. We will always offer you temporary solutions throughout treatment so you never have to live with a gap.

Which implant systems do we use?

We use Straumann Neodent and Dentsply Sirona Ankylos implants. These choices are grounded in extensive research and proven clinical successes, guaranteeing unmatched quality and reliability.

While we prioritise these established options, we remain receptive to emerging technologies and advancements, ensuring our patients receive the best possible options for maximum functionality and satisfaction.

How much do implants cost?

Every treatment is different and bespoke to you. Cost will depend on how many teeth you want to replace, how much good quality bone you have available etc. Our implant prices start from as little as £2,645 for a single tooth implant. This includes everything you need to have successful treatment that lasts for life.

Our advice is always the same, you are making a decision that will affect your smile and dental health for life, so never choose on price alone. Always make a decision based on the dentist’s experience, previous successes and results of other patients they have treated.

As a practice we do everything we can to ensure your visits are both comfortable and pain free.* Believe it or not, dental implant treatment doesn’t need to be painful. Most of our patients report that they have no pain during their procedure and less discomfort after an implant is placed than following an extraction by their dentist.

Latest technology and techniques are utilised throughout your journey

We are dedicated to harnessing the latest technological advancements to cater to your dental health needs. Our in-house CT scanner delivers unparalleled accuracy, offering detailed images for safe and precise plotting of implant locations. With this level of detail, CT scans provide the best chance of success, ensuring optimal placement and long-term stability.
