Practice Owner of Hampshire Dentists Jill Hanna

Jill
Practice Owner

I’m Jill. As the “wife of the boss”, my role in the practice is mainly consultative and supportive, drawing on my experience as a Marketing Manager with a well known blue chip brand, what seems a lifetime ago.

Since taking over the practice in 2010, I’ve witnessed the incredible support from our patients, many of whom have been with us from the start, championing Hampshire Dentists to their circles.

Living with Rob, the perfectionist behind it all, I’ve come to appreciate his meticulous attention to detail, and whilst this may drive me to madness sometimes at home – who better could you trust than someone who takes precise care in everything?

This ethos is embraced and carried by all the team members who work at the practice too. They are soft, gentle and helpful in every way and we continue to welcome team members who embrace this approach

Rob and Jill enjoy family time in Greece...

Beyond the practice, we have three children keeping us busy and entertained. I’m also a Body Control Pilates Teacher s in our hometown of Winchester. We’ve found it’s all about fostering a holistic approach, even softening the jaw to reduce tension and, hopefully, future dental bills.

Back in 2021, after 20 years together, I finally convinced Rob to “fix my teeth”
    Before having braces....

“I didn’t like my short and pointy teeth”

Taa daaaaa. After invisible braces, composite bonding and whitening

    The very best 40th present
The irony is, I always thought they were quite straight, I just hated how short and pointy they were.

Eventually he gave in and for my 40th Birthday, Rob came up with a plan, a plan which involved straightening. The bottom teeth were fairly straight forward so we opted for simple removable aligners. The top teeth were more complex apparently and required more TLC. Rob opted for a fixed brace (shown in picture above, if you can actually see it?)! Fixed braces are known to give a quicker, more predictable result and if I’m being completely honest, I found the fixed braces were an easier option for me as there was no “in and out” to eat unlike the aligner, they couldn’t be lost (in the weirdest of places – they are invisible after all!)

The whole process took 5 months, surprisingly quick in the grand scheme of things and then Rob did the finishing touches with composite bonding. Genuinely, it’s been one of the best things i have ever done as i always felt so self conscious of my smile, especially as the wife of a dentist and constantly looking looking and hearing about so many of our patients life transformations.
