A family tradition
Dentistry isn’t just a job for Rob; it’s in his DNA. With both his dad and brother being dentists, it was practically a family tradition! Growing up surrounded by dental talk at the dinner table, he knew from a young age that helping people smile was his calling.
Family first: bringing Jill into the fold
Speaking of family, Robin couldn’t help but bring his wife Jill into the dental world too! With her marketing background, Jill has been an integral part of making Hampshire Dentists the friendly, family-oriented practice it is today. Together, they strive to make every visit feel like a warm reunion with friends.
Life beyond the clinic: kids, marathons and snowboarding
But rest assured he does sometimes escape thoughts of teeth and experience life like the rest of us. When he’s not busy crafting beautiful smiles, Rob is a proud dad to three cheeky children. He’s also a keen long-distance runner, having participated in various half and full marathons, often without training! He even finds time for snowboarding and golfing adventures, as a keen lifelong Member of Royal Portrush Golf Club. Rob brings the same enthusiasm and dedication to his hobbies as he does to his practice.
A journey across the UK
After completing his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at Glasgow University in 2003, he practiced his craft across Scotland, Reading and Hythe. Since 2010, he has been serving the community in Southampton City Centre, bringing his wealth of experience to Hampshire Dentists.
Continuous learning and expertise
Rob isn’t one to rest on his laurels. He’s committed to continuous learning, always on the lookout for the latest techniques and technologies. From orthodontics and implants to bone grafting and sinus lifts, he’s undertaken numerous postgraduate courses both in the UK and internationally.
The joy of helping people
At the core of it all is Rob’s genuine love for helping people. “I love the social element of meeting and helping different people from all walks of life,” he says. Whether it’s alleviating pain, improving functionality or crafting a new smile, he finds immense joy in making a positive impact on his patients’ lives.
The independence of ownership
Owning a small independent practice like Hampshire Dentists gives Rob the freedom to ensure that every patient receives personalised, top-notch care. “I can ensure that every patient receives personalised, high-quality care tailored to their specific needs,” he explains. This independence allows him to create a warm, welcoming environment where patients feel like friends and family.
Supporting staff growth and development
Beyond patient care, Rob is dedicated to the growth and development of his team. He fosters an environment where staff members can continually learn and improve, ensuring that they provide the best possible care. “Rob’s support and encouragement have been instrumental in my professional growth,” says Barbs, one of our dental nurses “He’s always encouraging us to pursue further education and stay current with the latest advancements in dentistry.”
